Mariager Fjord and The Limfjord

Himmerland is almost surrounded by water, which is also why it is obvious to arrive by boat - and Himmerland is not a bad place to end up if you are an angler. Actually, there are lots of ports of call which are full of idyll and atmosphere. You will also find bigger yachting harbours with great facilities.

No matter if you are visiting Himmerland by boat or on foot, you should visit one of the many harbours. Here, you will really get a feel of the maritime atmosphere, and not least the idyll and smell of tar.

Here is an overview of the many harbours and ports of call at Mariager Fjord, the East Coast at Kattegat and the Limfjord at the West Coast of Himmerland. Here, you will be able to visit no less than 14 different harbours - and if you miss some of them, then you will have a reason to come back next year.

Mariager Fjord and the East Coast

At Mariager Fjord, you will find bays and slopes, which will make the sailing calm and idyllic. The fjord contains small ports of call, which are both charming and having a warm and welcoming atmosphere - but you will also meet a bigger yachting harbour which offers lots of cosiness and makes your trip to Mariager Fjord eventful.

At the East Coast of Himmerland - more precisely Øster Hurup - you will meet a genuine summer atmosphere, cosiness, and Danish idyll.
