Mariager Yachting Harbour

Welcome to Mariager Marina, where you are close to the town’s scenic nature and historic attractions.

Mariager has given its name to the fjord and is beautifully located in the heart of Denmark’s scenic fjord landscape. The town is a historical gem, known for its beautiful abbey church, cobbled streets, and charming half-timbered houses from a bygone era.

At the marina, you’ll find a relaxed atmosphere full of life and room for everyone – both locals and visitors.

The harbour is one of the largest in the fjord and offers excellent facilities such as a kitchen, toilet and shower facilities, barbecues, a playground, and green areas with picnic tables, where you can enjoy the stunning views across the water.

Attractions and experiences in Mariager

In Mariager, the town and harbour have merged – the marina has become a natural part of the town centre. This means it’s just a short walk from the harbour to many of Mariager’s attractions. On the west side, you’ll find the Mariager Salt Center – one of the most well-known sights in town. Here you can visit the old salt boiling hut and see how local salt is made – or take a relaxing dip in the warm salt bath.

Continue your visit at the Mariager Abbey Church, dating back to the 15th century, and finish your day with a walk to Hohøj, the largest Bronze Age burial mound in Scandinavia. Hohøj is also part of some of the town’s beautiful hiking routes. The most popular is the Mariager Route, which comes in both 5 km and 11 km versions and offers a perfect mix of natural beauty and historical sights.

Mariager also boasts a wide selection of restaurants and cafés, so no matter what you're in the mood for, you’ll find it here. Try Café Salt at the Salt Center or A’Porta, a cosy inn serving traditional Danish open-faced sandwiches. And on a warm summer day, don’t miss a visit to the ice cream shop Vaffelbageren, where you can enjoy delicious ice cream in freshly baked, crispy cones.
