Good to know about marking, type, and length
The red hiking route around Ertebølle is a wonderful 10 km circular walk. It is marked in one direction only, and the paths are clear with mown grass where applicable.
Please note: One of the markers inside the forest (around the 8 km mark) has come loose and is pointing in the wrong direction.
Good to know about terrain, difficulty, and accessibility
The route is a mix of gravel roads, mown grass paths, and asphalt. For approximately 500 metres, you’ll walk on a cycle path starting from Myrhøj Camping (Løgstørvej 69, 9640 Farsø).
Please note …
At the start of the route, just after Ertebølle Hoved (where you should walk up and enjoy the view over the Limfjord and the distinctive cliffs), the red arrows lead you into a fenced area. Here, there may be tall grass and grazing cattle during parts of the year.
You can easily skip this section of the route – simply follow the road from the parking area back to the asphalt.
If you choose to follow the route across the grassy field, you’ll end up down by the fjord and the black fishermen’s houses. Even if you bypass the grassy field, you can still reach the fjord and the fishermen’s houses – in that case, it’s just an out-and-back walk along the same gravel road.

- Myrhøj Stone Row: After about 8 km, you reach Myrhøj and the very special 156-metre-long stone row. The place feels a little magical – if you ask us.
