Livø Holiday Center
Enjoy the tranquility at Livø Holiday Center, which offers various types of accommodation and catering.
Livø is a tiny but in other ways very spacious island in the heart of the Limfjord, with a fundamental atmosphere like in an old Danish film by Morten Korch, where one almost expects to experience a “great-singing” Poul Reichhardt singing “are you familiar with the birds of the sky”.
Here you can find all Danish natural forms except dunes and cliffs spread over about 320 hectares, and within an hour you can experience them all, and not least experience the rich wildlife with large herds of deer, frogs and overall a biodiversity that even makes national parks curious.
On the island, the Danish Nature Agency runs their own vision of future nature-friendly farming, which in various ways demonstrates how a mix of old-fashioned farming craftsmanship and modern knowledge and tools can cultivate high-quality agricultural products while fostering great biodiversity.
On the island, you will also find the beautiful preserved buildings from the old Keller institutions with the shopkeeper in the middle of the "town", the cozy old residential houses with their own gardens and a total of 265 beds. On Livø, there is the possibility to stay both under a roof and in a tent. Livø Holiday Center offers accommodation on three levels:
- Campsite – where you sleep in your own tent and can use the toilet facilities and the camping kitchen, which is located in connection with the site.
- Hostel rooms – where you have your own room and can use the shared toilet and bath in the hallway.
- Hotel rooms – where you have your own toilet and bath in connection with the room.
Livø Holiday Center offers delicious catering if you do not wish to handle the cooking yourself.
Livø Holiday Center is a popular place for excursions, courses, and parties for companies, large families, and folk high schools, and over the years Livø has been a very popular holiday colony destination for schools, high schools, and scout groups, many of which have come for many decades.
At www.livo.dk you can book a stay with food from the Housekeeper's kitchen and experience the island's nature, agriculture, and not least the lovely "Morten Korch" atmosphere.
