Waste Sorting in Himmerland

A simple guide to help you handle your waste responsibly and contribute to a cleaner environment during your holiday.

Not sure how to sort your waste?
It depends on which municipality you are staying in – sorting systems may differ from what you are used to at home.
Always follow the local guidelines in the area where you are spending your holiday.

Mariagerfjord Kommune

In Mariagerfjord Municipality, glass must be sorted into the designated glass containers or taken to one of the local recycling centres. Find your nearest glass container HER

If you have more residual waste than your bin can hold, you can buy extra waste bag tags.
These can be purchased at the following recycling stations:

Ren Forsyning Mariagerfjord – Islandsvej 7, 9560 Hadsund

Resursen – Humlemarken 5, 9500 Hobro

Als Genbrugsplads – Vestvejen 6, 9560 Hadsund

For more information about sorting and collection, and for an overview of nearby glass containers and recycling centres, visit www.renform.dk
.

Vesthimmerland Kommune

If you are staying in a holiday home area in Vesthimmerland Municipality, waste must be disposed of at a waste island (also called a molok) or in a shared system with wheelie bins. Find the nearst waste island HER

At www.vesthimmerlandsforsyning.dk/, you can find detailed sorting guides, view your waste collection schedule, order bulky waste pickup, request extra collections and more.

Campsites

Waste sorting also applies to campers. Always follow the instructions provided at the campsite where you are staying. If you are unsure, simply ask the staff – they’ll be happy to help.

Deposit System

If your bottle or can has a deposit label, you can return it to bottle return machines in supermarkets or at deposit stations. Deposit labels are divided into A, B and C categories, which correspond to different refund amounts.
