Walking trails in Aars

In Aars, there are three lovely heart trails that take you on a tour around the town and the surrounding nature.

Three wonderful heart trails in Aars

Art Route - Red Route - 3 km

The tour starts east in the direction of the Swimming Hall.

There is a sign with the Heart Association's logo. A sign without an arrow means straight ahead, otherwise an arrow to the right and the left is indicated.

The tour passes the exciting works of art in the inner city, including Per Kirkeby's Wall. You walk on pavements or tiled paths.

The route is for everyone, including wheelchairs.

There is the option of a detour to Aars Church. In the cemetery you can see a rune stone and a memorial plaque for the executed freedom fighters from Aars.

Tvebjerg tour - Blue route - 5 km

The tour starts west along 'Søndergade'.

There is a sign with the Heart Association's logo and blue arrows indicating the direction of the route.

The tour goes through the Rema1000 forest, on to 'Tvebjerg', which is the nature area close to the city.

Along the way, there is the option of a detour to the top of 'Tvebjerg', where the beautiful view to the west can be enjoyed. There is also a table and a bench here.

The route is partly on pavements and partly on nature trails, which are hilly in some places.

The route is for all ordinary walkers, possibly also light prams.

The facility/Skating lake tour - Yellow Route - 6 km

The trip starts north along 'Møllevej' up to the Vandtårnet.

There is a sign with the Heart Association's logo and yellow arrows indicating the direction of the route.

After the Water Tower it goes down to the Skating lake.

The tour continues through the viaduct to a bog area, where an alternative route goes along 'Mejsevej', after which the signs point to the route of plants.

You will then come back to town, past Coop shopping market and the bank, along the danish route, through 'Rema1000skoven'.

The route can be completed by anyone. However, if you are a wheelchair user, it will be necessary to use the alternative option at 'Mejsevej'.

All three heart paths have been established in collaboration with the Lion club in Aars, as well as the Municipality of Vesthimmerlands.
