Shopping in Mariager

Is there a pedestrian zone in Mariager? Not exactly. Many of Mariager's shops and specialty stores are located around the city's many old streets.

The center of the city is Torvet, where some of the shops are located. Here you will find, among other things, the jewelry designer Helga Winther, who has everything in jewelry, both in gold, silver, and diamonds. There are always good offers in the store and jewelry at reasonable prices. Jewelry designer Helga Winther is located right next to Vaffelbageren, from where you can enjoy delicious homemade ice cream in freshly baked waffles all summer long. And when the waffles are being baked, you can smell it all over Torvet.

From Torvet, you can walk up Fuglsangsgade, where Klosterkælderen is located. Explore the many antique and flea market finds and take a look down into the old vaulted monastery cellar.

If you're into trinkets, jewelry, bags, paintings, and other art, you should stop by KunstBoxen on Kirkegade, where local artists exhibit and sell their art and crafts.

Next, you can stroll through the old museum courtyard, which is connected to the Mariager Museum opposite the gallery. On the other side of the museum courtyard, you'll find Egepladsen, which, in addition to the weekly flea markets in the summer, is also home to a wine specialist.

From Egepladsen, you can walk along Teglgade back towards Torvet and turn left onto Østergade just after the bakery.

On Østergade, you'll find Strikkehjørnet, where you can find everything in yarn and knitting accessories, the women's clothing store DIVA, and the shoe store Jørgensens Sko.

At the Mariager Saltcenter, you can stock up on delicious spice salts, the famous Mariager Sydesalt, and other salted products, among others.

If you're looking for Christmas decorations, these can be purchased in the old merchant's house that houses the Mariager Museum. In the museum shop, which is decorated for Christmas all year round, there are both old items and fine Christmas decorations.
