Johnny Haugaard's Spring Exhibition in Aalestrup

The Flower Man Johnny Haugaard has once again created a masterpiece! Look forward to experiencing the Spring Exhibition "The Voice of Nature – Decay" in Aalestrup.

The Flower Man Johnny Haugaard Returns to Himmerland
After his success with Denmark’s most beautiful Christmas exhibition, “THE ANGEL,” held in the old swimming hall in Aars, he has once again created a fantastic exhibition that this time has spread to several locations in Vesthimmerland.

“The Voice of Nature – Decay”

This is the name of the Spring Exhibition, which originates in Aars and has now spread to several towns in Himmerland, where outdoor art installations will adorn the cityscapes of Løgstør, Farsø, and Aalestrup. The three towns will represent the three elements: WATER, FIRE, and EARTH - while the final element, AIR, belongs to Aars.

EARTH in Aalestrup

Aalestrup is the town where bicycles belong. Known for the former bicycle factory JYDEN, the roundabout featuring the large penny-farthing, and now home to Denmark’s Bicycle Museum - a place deeply rooted in nostalgia.

As part of the Spring Exhibition in Aalestrup, numerous penny-farthings made of grass stand on the square. Additionally, a "mountain" of soil has been created, with winding paths leading to the top. Along these paths, grass men stand together, symbolizing unity.

Johnny Haugaard elaborates:
“We are entering a time where I believe that one person can create war, but the community can create peace. This is what all the exhibitions symbolize. We need to walk the same path toward the same goal. Otherwise, it risks turning into something else.”

At the top of the mountain stands the Gundestrup Cauldron - a cauldron that not only appears in all the outdoor exhibitions but also serves as the central theme of the storytelling. In the exhibition in Aars, you can even experience a colossal Gundestrup Cauldron, which is 5 meters high and 8 meters wide.

The outdoor installations are free to experience - and you can easily see them all in one day. However, if you wish to extend your stay, you can find accommodations and delightful dining options, providing the perfect setting for a cozy holiday in Himmerland. The towns also offer a rich commercial life, so don’t forget your wallet if you want to make a good deal.

Visit The Jutlandic Rose Park
In addition to Denmark’s Bicycle Museum, The Jutlandic Rose Park is also worth a visit. Here, you will find a sea of beautiful roses in the charming, romantic park.
