Hiking trail in Uhrehøje Plantation (circular route, 4 km, white route)
In the heart of Vesthimmerland’s nature, the Uhrehøje and Myrhøj Plantations hide four varied hiking routes, each offering unique nature experiences.
Here you can experience everything from peaceful forest paths and open heathlands to bird-rich bogs and old gravel pits. Whether you prefer a short, relaxed walk or a longer hike through hilly terrain, you’ll find a route to suit you.
Lace up your shoes and let the scents, sounds, and landscapes of the forest guide you into nature.
Starting point for the hiking route
By car or bicycle
If you want to walk the white route, we recommend parking at Farsøvej 95. This is also the starting point for the yellow and green routes.
By public transport
If you arrive by public transport, the nearest bus stop is located 1.6 km from the parking area. The stop is called “Sjørup Gårde (Farsøvej/Vesthimmerlands Kommune)” and is served by bus line 522 operated by NT (Nordjyllands Trafikselskab).
- Use Rejseplanen.dk or the NT app for the exact route from your starting point.
- Check if your bus requires advance booking – especially Telebus lines (typically 522).
- Important: Check timetables and booking requirements.
Good to know about marking, type, and length
The white hiking route (4 km) in Uhrehøje and Myrhøj Plantation is a circular walk along pleasant forest roads and forest trails.
Note: The white route was previously marked blue and may still appear blue on some maps. To avoid confusion with MTB routes, the hiking trail was changed to white.
Please note
There is lively activity in the plantations, so you may encounter a number of spider webs along the way.
What you can experience on the hiking route
Beautiful nature: There is plenty of beautiful nature in the plantations, and the trail has been carefully routed past small natural oases.
Blooming heather: When the heather blooms in late summer, the heath turns into a stunning purple carpet.
