Boldrup Museum

At the Boldrup Agricultural Museum, you can experience what life was like for a family over 100 years ago. There are plenty of experiences for both children and adults.

Step back in time to an era when rural life was simple, hard-working, and deeply connected to nature. Boldrup Museum is an authentic smallholding from around 1900, where you can experience how a family lived and worked on just a few square meters – surrounded by fields, a kitchen garden, and livestock.

Here you won’t find glass cases or locked doors – instead, you’ll be met by the scent of fresh hay and the sounds of grunts and clucks from traditional Danish livestock breeds such as pigs, goats, sheep, hens, and rabbits – all happy to be petted.

Explore the thatched farmhouse, take a look inside the barn and workshop, and enjoy a break in the lush garden filled with old Danish plants.

The museum is located in the idyllic Simested Stream – a scenic area with woodland, a pond, meadows, and of course the winding stream. It’s the perfect place for a peaceful day in nature – and an ideal stop on your holiday in Himmerland.

Boldrup Museum is not only for history enthusiasts – it’s also for nature lovers, families with children, and anyone in need of a break from the city and screens. Here you’ll find peace, presence, and the chance to discover how rural life of the past can still be felt today.
